How To Make More Money Meaningfully

Have you ever considered what it is that makes the difference between someone who’s good at making money and somebody who seems to struggle with finances despite having a respectable income? It’s actually quite simple. The first person may have made mistakes along the way, but are now in the process of starting new habits to stay on track financially. The latter doesn’t even want to think about how they’re going to pay their bills this month!

Here are 7 key steps that will help you build your financial foundation for life:

1. Have the Mindset That You Matter

Your time, your heart, your attention — these are all under-valued assets that contribute towards being able to make money. If you don’t feel like you matter, and that your time is valuable, it will be difficult to attract the right people (such as employers), who will enable you to earn more money. You have so much value to give this world!

2. Value Your Skills & Talents

Do not sell yourself short by donating hours of your time for free when someone asks for help. If you do volunteer work on a regular basis, it’s likely that you’ll find yourself being taken advantage of without receiving adequate compensation for your valuable time — which can create resentment in the long term. The people asking are clearly not aware of how valuable your time really is, or they would compensate you fairly!

3. Decide What You Want To Do With Your Life

Money is not everything — but it certainly makes life easier when you have enough of it to pay the bills, go on holiday, contribute towards causes that are important to you, etc. However, if your life isn’t fulfilling, no amount of money will ever make up for that emptiness. It’s never too late to start living a more meaningful life! So decide what you really want out of this life and take action today .

4. Donate To Causes That Matter

The more money you have, the more you are able to give back. By donating towards causes that are really close to your heart, it’s possible to live a life of meaning — one where you get out of it what you put in.

5. Be Willing To Learn New Skills

It’s sometimes difficult for people who are very skilled at their craft, but not so great with numbers, to make the transition into the business world. However, if you’re willing to learn new skills which will help grow your income, then this is likely an area where significant improvement can be made. The idea here is not to take on something completely alien, but instead find ways to leverage your existing abilities so you can generate more revenue.

6. Prioritise Your Financial Plan

It’s easy to get distracted by spending money on all kinds of random things, but it’s important to have a financial plan which helps you identify what your priorities are. Get the help of a mentor if necessary — they’re not just for young people! Once you know what your goals are, it’s much easier to work out how much money you need to live the life that feels right for you.

7. Spend Less Than You Make

This is perhaps one of the most well-known pieces of advice when it comes to building wealth; however, many people fail to put this into practice because they buy into the hype of consumerism. If you can stick to a budget and find creative ways to enjoy life whilst spending less money, then it’s highly likely that you’ll end up with a lot more leftover for your future.

By following these simple steps, you’ll be working towards creating a foundation for financial stability throughout your whole lifetime. If nothing else, this will enable you to live contentedly without worrying about money so much… which is especially important when you have a family to look after. You’ll also be in a much better position to contribute to making this world a better place.

How did you go? Did you implement all 7 steps? What was the most helpful piece of advice from this article?

Happy living! From your coach Andy.
